One of the nice things in the downtown area is the skywalk system.  No matter how bad the weather, you can walk a considerable distance safe from the weather.  I have about a block from the parking ramp to the point I can enter the skywalk.  At lunch we can walk for as long as we want through the skywalk comfortably without coats and all.

Yellow River Cabins near Monona, IA.  We visited the Marquette, McGregor (Iowa) and Prairie DuChien Wisconsin.  This is on the road leaving the cabins.  We went in October but we beat the fall folliage by a week.  A beautiful area but again, like this area near home, you are surrounded by this canopy of trees.

Day 47- February 16, 2012

All considering, we haven't had so much.  This view is very pretty to me and reminds me of a couple other areas I've went to.  I'll share those in the next day or two.  I love the way you feel like you are in a tunnel as the trees surround you.

Day 46- February 15, 2012

Heading home from my taking my mom home post surgery.  In the morning there had been a thick fog.  It was returning and the air had a feel of more snow coming.

Day 45, February 14, 2012

On my way to my mother's house.  She was having surgery the next day,.  It had stopped snowing but the sky was a funny color.  This is a small cemetary on the way.

I couldn't get a picture that the sun wasn't messing with me so I thought why not just take a picture of the sun!

Day 43 - February 12 Sunday

Southern Iowa.  A field full of deer.  I couldn't get them to stop moving and I couldn't find an area to get a better shot....sadly this is as good as it gets.  Working on moving shots and playing with the settings.

Earlier I took a picture across the road with my cell phone during a snowfall.  Here is one from my Nikon.  Hard to tell that it's snowing hard.  Maybe I need to work with the white balance ?

Day 38, February 7,2012

I've had multiple issues- lack of internet access when visit elderly family members, long work hours, time out of the office for my mom's minor surgery, camera battery issues and some weird thing going on where I can't get into my blog for 'insufficient privledges".... But I have been taking pictures and I'll get the documentation online as quickly as I can.

Day 37 - February 6, 2012

Snow or precipitation seemed to just be hanging in the air this morning- begging to fall.  But it didn't.  Some trees were covered in frost; others in an icy covering.  The snow and moisture in the air seemed to hold in the cold creating our own personal icebox.  I took several photo's but none really did justice.  Here is the best of the bunch.

SNOW- yes it's snowing!

Some pictures on our doorway looking at the town home across from us that mirrors ours.  I tried the Barbl retro camera and Hipster- not sure why it shows a pink tinge.  It's hard to tell but the air is thick with big flakes!

Day 34- Friday February 3, 2012

A busy day and then bring home the 4 oldest grandchildren.  The beautiful black cat, Tipper, is still hiding in the basement but so did Sphinx for several days.  I go to the room and talk just as I did when Hillary first came.  Hopefully she will get used to the sound and come out to us.  Food is getting eaten and the litterbox used.  We just have to be patient.  The other two Sphinx has stopped hissing at Hillary for the most part but she is still going out of her way to hiss at him.  She will walk out of her way to him and then hiss.  He doesn't even respond.  They do seem to be having closer moments as noted below.  One night, late at night, nearing bedtime Sphinx actually followed her about almost begging her to play.  I think eventually the two might be friends. 

Day 33 - February 2, 2012

Unfortunately I have a dead phone and can't send today's picture here.  I have grandkids for the weekend so on Sunday I'll post today's and the weekend....Winter weather may actually be coming.

Some of the organization I'm working on it my creative room.  I'm realizing I just have to spend a bit of time consistently getting this in order so my pursuits have a "space".

Many of the cubes (second from left) are empty.  I need to sort using small boxes that will stack in these some various items.  It's coming along.  The left wheeled carts are light weight and unfortunately can not handle the weight of things like metal cutters etc because a drawer full is heavy.  Yes I'm using an old changing table as a storage area.  On top of it you can see one of the decorative "suitcases" I'm using to sort with.

MP and 30 minutes walking

We were able to get my friends other cat.  She is hiding under the bed but so did Sphynx for a week.    This little girl however seems right at home!
