Day 124- Friday May 4, 2012

My team spent the afternoon doing some work for ChildServe.  What a hot, humid day.  The morning looked stormy but by the afternoon just HOT HUMID.  Luckily we got to work inside.

Day 123 - Thursday May 3, 2012

Cows out in a field.  Look at those clouds again.  We seem to have storms daily and then it clears off.

Day 122 - Wednesday May 2, 2012

So remember I'm not to obsess on my food and scales?  Easier said than done.  Yea yesterday I weighed again.  I've lost 5 since I started working with the Personal Trainer and 10 in total since the beginning of the year.  I hope that that tweaks to my diet and the twice a week training sessions have made a change but my trainer has said you may not lose right away on the scales but will in inches.  I have to remind myself that I might still happen or I may go back to losing painstakingly slow.  I pulled out some "tight pants" and one of them fit now.  Happy day.....  :)

Day 119-121 Sunday April 29-May 1,2012

I spent these 3 days working on net corsages for the children's sermon today.  I was out of town with my granddaughter celebrating her birthday that weekend so I needed to get these 40 corsages done.  We were acknowledging and educating on World Malaria Day and kicking off our No More Malaria campaign.  So I work on these and each day take pictures of the work and it was some of the pictures that just vanished.  I can't explain it or change it.    All I can do is share the instructions and say that they turned out really well and I wish you could have seen the pictures!

Day 118 - Saturday April 28,2012

Retro camera app- Little Orange Box.  More cloud formations.

Day 117 Friday April 27, 2012

Poor pitiful me.  I'm having issues with my phone shutting off on it's own, losing it's charge, random odd screen changes (like the wallpaper goes black) and pictures disappearing.  It seems like any time I manage to sit down to work on the blog updates, my home internet is down.  Now I can't find a ton of pictures.  How did I find this?  Earlier I wanted to post an area in Kauai that the road is canopied with trees.  It's quite beautiful and the pictures from Eastern Iowa, for instance, made me think of it.  I wanted a comparison of how similar they are, yet different, and thousands of miles and completely different climates.  And why do I care now?  Because I watched The Descendants and it made me think of the north part of Kauai.  They were filming this movie then.  We ate at the Kilauea Fish Market after seeing the Kilauea lighthouse and locals working on the film crew were there.  All these pictures and I can't find them on the stand alone hard drive with my pictures.  Here is a little something I found when I googled the movie:

If you get a chance, watch the movie.   The first time I got so lost in the locations and "remember that" as well as enjoying the local music, that I didn't really watch the movie.  So I rewatched it.  It's a good movie.  It made me a little "homesick".  This is hard to explain since I didn't grow up there, was nearing 50 before I got to go to Hawaii but there was so much peace, tranquility and just felt I was supposed to be there.  I've only had that sort of "deja vue" a couple other times and later found family ties to the area.  I don't know this time.  I can't explain it but I hope you can drink in a little of the beauty and history by watching this film.

Day 116 - Thursday April 26, 2012

I know it's not a good thing to weigh too often and I don't want to get too food or scale obsessed, yet I weighed again.  Keeping up 90 minutes of exercise a day (at least 5 if not more)  is taking a lot of my time and lead to personally journaling so for tonight this is all I have to share is the additional 1.5 pounds!

Day 115 - Wednesday April 25, 2012

Maybe I'm just noticing them more.  Maybe it's the crazy rainy weather.  Whatever it is, we seem to have a lot of interesting cloud formations.  This with the retro camera app on my cell phone- Xolaroid 2000.

Day 114 - Tuesday April 24, 2012

Well it's good to have other measures of success but you can't ignore the numbers.  The trainer tells me to go by how clothes feel and they are looser.  Still it's taken 3 months to lose 5 lbs so .5 in a week is pretty good for me........

Day 113 - Monday April 23, 2012

I added some information to my smash book.  I documented that Wednesday April 11 my team volunteered for meals for the heartland on the pocket and then tucked in documents from the day.  Really happy to be part of making some 10,000 meals just on our shift.
